Getting Started
Voice vs Text Mode
When to talk to Marnix and when to type.
Choosing the right mode
Marnix works in two modes: voice and text. Both produce the same quality output, but they suit different situations. Picking the right one saves you time and credits.
Voice mode (240 credits)
Voice mode starts a live huddle with Marnix โ your AI CTO. You talk, Marnix listens, asks follow-up questions, and confirms the plan before generating anything. Think of it like a quick product meeting.
Voice is best when:
- Your idea is complex or has a lot of moving parts
- You haven't fully worked out the details yet
- You want to think out loud and let Marnix help shape the concept
- You're building something with a nuanced user experience
- You're away from your keyboard and using the Marnix Remote iOS app
๐ก Tip
Voice mode costs more because the conversation helps Marnix understand nuance that's hard to capture in a single text prompt. The extra investment usually means fewer iterations needed afterward.
Text mode (100 credits)
Text mode is a single prompt โ you type your description and Marnix builds it. No back and forth. It's faster and cheaper when you know exactly what you want.
Text is best when:
- You have a specific, well-defined idea
- You're making targeted changes to an existing app
- You want a quick prototype without a planning session
- You've used voice mode before and know how to write a strong prompt
Quick comparison
| Voice | Text | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | 240 credits | 100 credits |
| Style | Conversational | Single prompt |
| Best for | Complex ideas | Clear, specific builds |
| Speed | Slightly slower | Fastest |
Either way, you can iterate after the build using text โ so there's no wrong choice. Start with whatever feels natural.
